At our party two weeks back, we asked people to give us suggestions for names. Here's what we got (all comments not in italics made by the writer; numbers in parens mean the name was suggested more than once):

Dineen2: The Revenge is my personal favorite, but I don't think Mike will go for it. We still aren't going public with our name choices, but I will say that a couple of the names on this list are possibilities...
Something to consider in the equation: Do you want your child to be uniquely findable in google (and its future equivalents)? Pros and cons on both sides, of course. ;-)
Posted by: Lyn on May 27, 2003 07:06 AMUnfortunately, with a last name like Wasylik and a web presence like ours, I think that is pretty much going to be impossible to avoid.
Posted by: Dineen on May 27, 2003 09:36 AMWhat an amazing list of names!! Since I couldn't be there I want to add mine...Jennifer if it's a girl...See, here's why...no one is using that name now because it was SO common in our generation. But, see here's what will happen: half her teachers will be named Jennifer, because they're part of our generation, and they'll treat her special and she'll get straight A's and grow up to be President...all because you called her Jennifer. That and it's my name, tee hee. For a boy, Walter Xavier - so he can have a really funky monogram..WXW
Posted by: Hurdle on May 27, 2003 03:13 PM"April Mae June" - I'm cracking up over that one! Classic!
Posted by: Christine on May 28, 2003 11:40 PMI think you should just call him/her "Work Product." ;)
Posted by: Tiff on May 29, 2003 11:55 AMWell, Tiff, that certainly would mean no need for another redesign when the kid comes! But I don't think that is the only consideration here. And besides, we've pretty much decided against alliterative W's, even though WXW is a funky monogram!
Posted by: Dineen on May 29, 2003 10:03 PMwell I probed Sean today for names. First I showed him your latest pictures - his eyes about popped out of his head! Then he started thinking of names. He refused to come up with any boy names since he is positive the baby is a girl. Here is Sean's list:
Sarah
Amber
Baby Beluga (I couldn't get a clear explanation on this one)
Keri (what good taste he has!)
Pumpkin
Well, I can say with authority that whether the child is a boy or a girl, Sean is allowed to officially nickname it Pumpkin. I'll leave the beluga to the Finding Nemo crowd.
Posted by: Dineen on May 30, 2003 05:09 PMI just learned that Baby Beluga is a kid's song. At least I now know he didn't pull it out of nowhere!
