Happy Halloween!

We had a lovely, lovely evening for Alex’s third Halloween. We went to our next door neighbors’ house for a vain attempt to get real food into the kids’ gullets before commencing the trick or treating. Then we all headed out for trick or treating together. The boys were a little flummoxed by it at first, but they quickly got the hang of it, and were great about saying please and thank you in addition to the all-important “trick-or-treat.” After circling the block, we headed back to the neighbors’ again for dessert (like we really needed dessert at that point!) and a little chit-chat and cartoons, and then were home by 8:15. Took some time to get Alex to sleep, but he really enjoyed his evening.

I dressed at the last minute — figured I had an once-in-a-lifetime chance to highlight the belly and had to do something. So Thumper’s first Halloween costume was as a Christmas present. The card, if you can’t read it, says:
