Baby’s First New Clothes

Yesterday, Mike and I bought the first new clothing items for Thumper — an outfit for the child to come home from the hospital in (picked by Mike) and a cute red lightweight fleece over-sleeper for going out and about in the “cold” (ie, 50 degree) weather (picked by me). The coming home outfit is a yellow sleeper that has some Christmassy-themed embroidery on it. Add a onesie underneath and it will be perfect. If this child is a boy, he will have a lot of his big brother’s clothes already in the hopper and ready to go, and since we didn’t know Alex’s sex until he was born we have plenty of yellow and green and other neutral colors to get us through the first few weeks until we know what we need, clothes wise. But, even if Thumper ends up with a lot of hand-me-downs, he or she should at least have something new for his or her big debut. And now he or she does!
