Get computer, Mommy.
Posted by Dineen on January 19th, 2006 filed in AlexAlex’s nighttime routine has been shaken up a little bit the last few weeks — between Baby Nate’s arrival, and having Nani and Pop Pop around to help with bed time activities, he has had different people putting him to bed almost every night and needed a little more bedtime attention. Last night, after ten minutes of screamfest when we refused to read him yet another book, I came back into the room and agreed to stay with him in the dark while he fell asleep, but I told him I had to go get my computer first (hey, it’s a lot less boring sitting in the dark if you have something to read!).
Tonight he didn’t have the meltdown he had last night, but before he got into bed he opened his bedroom door and said “get pooter, Mommy.” I didn’t get it at first, but finally, it clicked — he was asking me to get my computer so that I could come sit with him for a little while. How can one refuse such an intelligent request? So here I am, typing away in the dark, Nate asleep on my chest and Alex almost asleep in his bed.
