I spoke too soon.

I wrote yesterday about how Alex is processing my breastfeeding Nate. Even funnier than Alex trying to use his own nipples as a source of food, it turns out, is his reaction to my using my Pump in Style to pump milk for a future bottle (not that we have introduced bottles yet, but I believe in being prepared!). I was doing what Hertle calls “co-pumping” — pumping on one side while Nate fed on the other so I would get a good let down. Alex thought this was hysterical. He kept laughing like crazy as the machine made its sound. Then he got closer to the action and started saying “ouch! ouch! ouch!” in exact rhythm with my nipple being pulled into the horn.

It doesn’t really hurt, but I appreciate the empathy!
