Nathaniel Houdini

Houdini We are going to have to change Nate’s last name to Houdini. As eminent baby experts from Dr. Harvey Karp to John Locke will tell you, swaddling is supposedly one of the best ways to calm an infant and help him to sleep. And the cadillac of swaddling blankets is the Miracle Blanket. A good friend let us borrow their Miracle Blanket, and I thought I finally had the whole swaddling thing down. Nate, however, has other plans. He has figured out how to squirm his arms out of the swaddle. See that flap up by his shoulder? That is the flap that was wrapped around his arm and was supposed to keep it tight by his side. Crafty for a little guy!

He is *so* adorable, Dineen! I love sleeping baby photos!!!

And wow, he is pretty amazing to wriggle out of that blanket. Dennis was pretty adamant about not being swaddled, too, contrary to all the baby “whisperers.”
