The Line

In my attempt to explain the concept of personal space and restuarant etiquette to a toddler, I explained to Alex one time when we were out to eat that there is a pretend line along the top of our booth in the restaurant, and that when we are in restaurants we don’t cross the line and we don’t bother the people on the other side of the line. Did it sink in? Heck yes — the next time we went to a restaurant, I asked Alex “where’s the line?” and he did the same chopping motion at the top of the booth that I had done when I first explained the concept well over a week before. It’s so amazing to see that he really retains this kind of thing. And so cute to see Alex point out the line.
