Momma’s Eyes

Nate has my eyes. So far, anyway, his eyes are about the same color blue-grey as mine. I love it, not because I have a preference of blue over brown, but more so because Alex is just so much like Mike, it’s nice to have one of our children appear to take after me. But, even if Nate’s eyes turn brown, they are still like mine in a way that he won’t grow out of — he sleeps with his eyes open. If I didn’t do it myself, I would be freaked out by it. When he falls asleep, his eyes roll into the back of his head, and his lids slide to half mast.

May not be the best trait to inherit from me, but at this point, I will take anything!
