Perfectly Average

Nate is Mr. 50th percentile, it seems. He had his four month appointment today and all is good. He is 25 inches long, weighs 14 pounds, 8 ounces, and his head is 16 3/4 inches around — all of which are pretty much right at the 50th percentile for his age. The only place he isn’t perfectly average at is developmental milestones — his rolling and reaching for objects is a little ahed of the curve. In fact, when the doctor was examining him, he kept grabbing at her necklace and she joked “well you weren’t exagerating about the reaching for objects!” We go back in June, and I was luckily able to schedule both Nate’s 6 month and Alex’s three year appointment for the same time.

But in the meantime, I am quite happy to have a 50th percentile baby. He’s not too big, he’s not too small, he is juuuuuust right!
