Fitting Right In
Posted by Dineen on May 17th, 2006 filed in Alex, NateI am glad to say my predictions of it taking all week were all wrong — day three of the new day care, and Alex is already entirely at home. When we picked him up Monday night, he was happy as happy can be. His new teacher, Miss Melissa, was holding him when we arrived, and he was smiling and talkative and wonderful. Drop off yesterday was a little difficult again, but not as bad as Monday. By this morning, he did just great. When I got there, he went straight to the assistant director, who carried him back to his class without even a peep.
When I picked Alex up today, he was so happy. Miss Melissa can’t say enough good things about him — Alex is sweet, Alex is well behaved, Alex is polite, Alex is a good eater, Alex has five stickers on his shirt but I could give him stickers all day because he is so great. I know it is probably their job to say nice things about Alex, but still, it seems that they really genuinely like him.
The best part, actually, is how happy Alex is to have Nate there in the same school. His teachers take him to visit Baby Nate during the day, and he is amazingly sweet with him. Nate is also quite beloved by his teachers already.
We made the right choice.
