Visualize Whirled Peas

Visualize Whirled PeasHave I mentioned how much I love my stick blender? When I was making Alex’s food, I didn’t buy the stick blender until he was almost past needing eerything super pureed. It was great, but I didn’t get the full effect. When I first made peas for Alex, the process was so difficult — it involved a ricer and a bazillion thrown-out pea hulls — that I didn’t make them again until he was ready to eat them whole-but-smooshed because I just couldn’t be bothered to puree and make a mess of the blender.

But this time around? Piece of cake with the stick blender! A pot of steamed organic peas is turned into pretty puree in mere seconds.

I also have one other cute tool — ice cube trays with covers. Not necessary, but they do help stop freezer burn.
Tools of the trade

With the tools in place, Nate has had quite a variety of food so far. The list includes sweet potatoes, butternut squash, banana, pears, peaches, green beans, peas, avocado. So far, he loves it all!
