Dinos and Pirates

Dinosaurs and Pirates are starting to play a very large part in our lives right now. There’s Alex’s favorite song, “We Are the Dinosaurs” by Laurie Berkner. That’s pretty much second only to the Pirates of the Carribean YoHo, YoHo song.

Then there are the books. We have several of the “How Does a Dinosaur…” series, and all of them are great. We love Dinosaurs, Dinosaurs by Byron Barton. But Alex’s current favorite — the book he has almost memorized and loves to read every night — is Captain Flinn and the Pirate Dinosaurs. I can just imagine the author having a bit of a Reeces Peanut Butter Cup (two great tastes that taste great together!) moment when he decided to tell his son Flinn a story about Flinn, and Pirates, and Dinosaurs. He could just eat it up with too much ketchup! (<–Alex’s favorite line from the book, and Mommy’s too).

Tonight I brought Alex a special treat — a $1 pack of dinosaur flash cards. He is just thrilled with them! In fact, he was allowed to choose three cards to take to bed with him. When I left the room a little while ago, he had the three cards spread out on his pillow and was propped up on his elbows looking at them. Hopefully, he will go to sleep eventually. And have lovely dinsaur dreams…

My oldest is VERY into dinosaurs right now, too! Do you ever watch Stanley on Playhouse Disney? He just came out with a new dinosaur special this week. I can’t wait ’til the boys are a bit older so we can hit up Dinosaur World off I-4!

Dinosaurs and pirates though? So there! Thanks!

Tonight Daddy let him take the whole pack of cards to bed. Haven’t seen Stanley, but I think we need to make a Dino World date!
