Hike!

We went for a hike today. Well, it wasn’t so much a true hike, as more of a walk along suburban sidewalks to the new local eatery for lunch and then back. But Alex was excited to “go on a hike,” and he even donned his backpack for the occasion. So I put him to work and put Nate’s lunch in Alex’s bag for the walk. And we did take time while we were walking to enjoy nature. We saw three butterflies, and several dragonflies. I just adore teaching Alex how to name his world. I pointed the first dragonfly out to him on a bush, and after that, he was able to spot several more that I would have missed. He makes my heart just swell on days like today!
