Superman!

Alex has a wonderful large hooded towel that Aunt Keri made him when he was born that he still uses every day after his bath. That towel has recently taken on a secret identity as Superman’s cape — after a bath, Alex will put the hood on his head and, nekked but for the towel trailing behind like a cape, “fly” around the house, Mike and I stifling a laugh as we try to get him not to run on the tile with wet feet.

Last night, he took it a step further and wanted to keep being Superman even after he was in his PJs. Even better, he stopped answering to Alex and kept insisting “I Superman!” Did you know that Superman puts his clothes in the hamper the first time Mommy asks and goes straight in to the bathroom to brush his teeth? That Superman likes having three stories at bedtime? He also pees standing up. Finally, as Alex crawled into bed, he handed me the towel and said “I not Superman anymore; I Alex.”
