And speaking of up…

Nate is all about up in its various forms right now. Today he stood up — not once, mind you, but two or three times — without any help from person or object for several seconds at a time. I wouldn’t put him on a boat in the middle of the ocean just yet, but those sea legs are definitely starting to come in. I think we may even have caught it on film, the last time he did it, in which case, pictures to come.

He is also learning to climb up. At his grandparents’ house tonight, he climbed up the ottoman and into my lap from the floor without any help.

And then there are the hands up. You could just smell the wood burning this weekend as he realized he could get an amazing enthusiastic round of applause by putting his hands up over his head in response to “How Big is Nate?” or, even easier, “ta da!” By tonight, he was a pro.

When you are 8-going-on-9 months old, there’s no place to go but up!
