Happy Halloween!

We had a great Halloween, despite a slightly inauspicious beginning for the evening. I managed to burn what would have been a perfect Halloween meal (pigs in a blanket decked out like bugs) but Alex did eat a few of the dogs out of the burned wrapper before we went trick or treating. And drank some yogurt smoothie, so I felt pretty good that it wasn’t all junk. He fought his costume a little — didn’t want the boots at first, and wanted me to wash off the makeup — but I convinced him to wear the boots “just for pictures” and told him I wiped off the make up (my trick for the night!) and we were good to go. Nate hadn’t finished his last day care bottle, so we just joked that it was his pirate rum and headed out. Everyone oohed and ahhed over both boys, and Alex was very polite and remembered to say thank you without reminder most times. Nate conked out toward the end of his first Halloween, but he looked cute!
