Thank Goodness for Modern Medicine

It’s been a rough week yet again at Chez Wasylik. Nate was out of school one day last week, but this week the fever came back with a vengance — on Wednesday, he couldn’t/wouldn’t eat much, and by Thursday, it wasn’t even responding to the normal alternating Tylenol and Motrin drill. Ears were definitely the culpret. The doc was nice enough to even let me look through the otoscope to see how red and oww-y they were myself. The good news of that, though, is that unlike a cold, an ear infection is treatable. By the second dose of antibiotics, the fever was gone, and his personality was improving. By today, he was back to eating food and in a great mood all day. I am all for doing things naturally when possible, but dang if I am not just so grateful for antibiotics at times like this! I am just glad to see my baby out of pain.
