Santa Shops at Sam’s
Posted by Dineen on December 9th, 2006 filed in Alex, From the Mouths of Babes, Still DevelopingWe were at Sam’s Club tonight and Alex made a special request to go down the book aisle, where he proceded to tell me which books and videos Santa was going to bring him. He has been in a festive mood all day — started the day off with singing Frosty the Snowman, which he must have picked up at school. Well, he didn’t know all the words, but I got him going and he was so pleasantly surprised that “you know this song, Mommy?!?!?” (my favorite part: “let’s do the thumpity thumps, Mommy!”). Then we went and picked out our Christmas tree, which was a joy. We tried a cut-your-own-tree farm, but it was a bit of a bust. Still, Alex was excited to pick the tree we eventually did get, and was thrilled to place the first ornament on it — the bird he colowed at school last week. Gosh, he was so adorably cute and excited about it! Finally, the aforementioned trip to Sam’s. So glad Alex is feeling festive! Nate is fairly clueless, and it’s going to be a challenge to keep the tree vertical and unscathed. But ghe house now smells great, and all in all, I am suddenly feeling a lot more festive myself!
