I guess he is ready!

I found out today that Alex is being transitioned from Preschool 2 to Preschool 3 at school this week. He has spent a few hours a day in the new class. I was a bit reluctant when Miss Joy told me the news — it seems so early! In Preschool 3, you have to write your name on your paper, it seems. And he did it! His Preschool 2 teacher gave this to me and said it is the first time she saw him write his name – I haven’t seen him do it either, so I am pretty sure this is a first. Sure, the L is backwards. And the E. But all 4 letters are there and otherwise in the right order (and he did a pretty good job with the tracing, too). As she was handing me the paper, I welled up with tears.

So, Mommy was a little hesitant about moving to Preschool 3, but it may well be for the best. He will definitely be challenged. And come August, he will move up again – to the state’s Voluntary Pre-K class for half the day (luckily, the VPK classes are taught right in his current day care center!) before making the move the next year to Kindergarten.
