No cavities!

Alex had his first visit to the dentist today. We’ve been talking about it for weeks, and he was really excited about going. I did a pretty good job of preparing him for the experience, except I neglected to tell him about the chairs. So he was a little leery of the chair, but he overcame his aprehension very nicely and did an excellent job. He was very excited by all the goodies Ms. Michele, the hygienist, gave him, including a hackey sack and a yo yo in addition to a new blinking toothbrush, a purple tongue scraper, and a purple flosser (lots of purple, which was very nice because purple is Alex’s favorite color!). He was very attentive as he was instructed on how to do an even better job of taking care of his teeth, although she seemed to be saying that we are doing a better job than many with our current habits.

Alex also did great for Dr. Duga himself. When we left, he was given a token to get a prize from the machine, and ended up with a “purple, white, pink, pink” high bouncing ball (it has two shades of pink). Afterwards, we had a nice breakfast, just the two of us, and a trip to Alex’s favorite store, Target. For the rest of the day, all he could talk about was Dr. Duga, Dr. Duga, Dr. Duga. No cavities and some good lessons!
