Barfy Blues

Poor Nate has the barfy blues. When he woke up yesterday morning, his crib was covered in dinner from the night before. Ick. Then I gave him his normal morning bottle and he proceeded to barf it all over Alex’s bedroom floor, out his nose and mouth (thank goodness a carpet cleaner guy was scheduled to come a few hours later!). Poor baby wanted to eat, so I tried to give him some toast and applesauce. He gobbled it, and then just as the carpet cleaner guy was finishing up, Nate spewed his lunch right back at me — all over me. I ended up plopping a screaming baby in the tub, fully clothed, so I could finish writing the poor carpet guy a check while trying not to drip applesauce vomit all over the check book or my newly cleaned carpets.

Oh, and Mommy and Daddy aren’t doing too hot either. Let’s just say it’s not wise for us to venture too far from the restroom of late. Alex, thankfully, seems to be holding his own.

Mike took Nate to the pediatrician today and the diagnosis is strep. Amoxicillian, here we go! They came back from the doctor’s and Nate wolfed down (and more importantly, kept down!) two bananas, and even managed a half a bottle of milk at 4-ish. Hopefully the tide has turned.

Oh, and did I mention he is teething too? Looks like a bottom tooth on the right poked through today. Of all days!
