Houdini Returns

Posted by Dineen on March 21st, 2007 filed in Milestones, Nate

When Nate was only a few weeks old, he figured out how to get out of a very tight swaddle, and I jokingly referred to him as Houdini. Today, my friends, I am not joking. This morning Mike brought Nate his morning bottle and left him in his crib while he left the room to tend to Alex. It ended up being a bit longer than Mike expected, but he didn’t worry, since Nate didn’t make a peep and seemed happy enough with his morning drink. (I was in the shower for all of this, so could hear what was going on but not see). Then, as Mike and Alex were hanging out on our bed…in walks Nate. Toting his bottle and his Taggie, just toddling along like it was the most natural thing in the world for him to be walking into the room at that moment.

Except…how the heck did he get out of his crib???

We don’t have bumpers in the crib — never did. The only toy in his crib other than his Taggie is Baby Tad, and he doesn’t provide that much height. It’s a mystery. One I am hoping doesn’t repeat itself, as I am not ready for him to outgrow his crib already!
