On the Road

I have to go out of town for two nights for work, starting tomorrow. Tonight I will prepare three dinners that Mike can heat and go (and a fourth for a promised meal for Nate’s Godparents, who just welcomed their third son). I will prepare three sets of snack and milk for the kids to bring to school. I will gather all of the things they need for their Easter parties on Thursday. I doubt I will even pack until tomorrow night, just before I hit the road, as I have a big day at work tomorrow, too.

Somehow, I don’t think going out of town for business is as much work for men, and particularly men of, oh, say, my boss’ generation.

Worst of all, this means I will be separated from my kiddos for two nights — the first time ever I am apart from Nate (and the only time I was separated from Alex was when Nate was born). I haven’t even left yet and I am missing them like crazy.
