Which came first?
Posted by Dineen on April 8th, 2007 filed in AlexI was just sitting down to write an Easter entry when Alex woke up and came out of his room, crying. After two tries and a liberal spraying of Magic Sleep & Protection Spray™ (vanilla pillow freshener) I finally got out of him that I have to “bring back to the store” a particular episode of Go, Diego, Go! with “black and white birds” that spooked him.
Poor kiddo. He is so darn sensitive to things he sees on TV. I try hard not to let him watch too much — pretty much only Dora, Diego, Thomas, and DVDs of Signing Times and the Baby Einstein series (and not all at once). When we go beyond those things, he often gets spooked. So what I wonder is, does he get so spooked because he doesn’t watch much TV, or am I doing the right thing by keeping him from TV because he gets spooked? Hard to know. For now, I will continue to severely limit TV. We like reading better, anyway.

just keep doing what you are doing…he isn’t ready to relinquish control of his imagination yet.
