Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man

Posted by Dineen on May 10th, 2007 filed in Alex, Arts & Crafts, From the Mouths of Babes

When I emptied Alex’s folder at school today, I was happily shocked to see that he had drawn some stick figures. A whole family of them. Our whole family, to be exact. This is the first time he has ever drawn human figures, I believe. As we were getting into the car, I asked him to explain to me who was who (from left to right, it’s Nate, Mommy, Daddy, and Alex. if you view it at Flickr, the notes explain it). When I asked him why the one on the left was me and the one on the right was Mike, he explained that “Mommy has long legs.” He’s got a point.
