Mommy’s Home!

After a grueling day that included missing my flight due to a slightly late start followed by traffic, bad weather, and rental car return incompetance — and then getting my hopes raised and then dashed again by being allowed to board the next flight standby and then being hauled back off of it — I thought I couldn’t be any happier once I finally hit the air. And then I hit the garage of my home and was greeted by an eccstatic four year old who had missed his mommy. Much hugging ensued, followed by the following conversation:

Alex; Mommy, I missed you soooo much! I am glad you are home!
Mommy: I am glad I am home too, Alex.
Alex: Did you bring me a present? [I had promised him one].
Mommy, pulling out two Atlanta T-shirts acquired for a ridiculous price at the ATL: Yes I did, look! The green one is for you and the blue one is for baby Nate [they didn't have purple].
Alex: I DREAMED you brought me a T-Shirt! I dreamed it Mommy! Thank you sooo much, I love it!
Mommy: Time to go to bed now, sweetie. You and Nate can wear your new T-Shirts to school tomorrow.
Alex: And will you take me to school and pick me up, Mommy?
Mommy: I will.
Alex: Good. I love when you do that. I missed you.
Mommy: I missed you too. Get some good sleep and have more good T-Shirt dreams!
