Miss Allie and Nate

This is Miss Allie. She watched Alex and Nate last night while Mommy and Daddy went on a real live date, and Alex took this picture with his camera after Mommy and Daddy left. It was Mommy and Daddy’s first real live date in a looooong time. This was the first time we had gone to the movies sans children since, well, before we had children (yes, that’s four years! The last movie we saw in the theaters was Matrix Reloaded, when I was eight and a half months pregnant with Alex. Miss Allie is the first non-family, non-family friend to babysit for us since we moved to Florida. She is one of Nate’s afternoon teachers at school, and is very, very nice and competent (and pre-screened!).

So the total for the evening:
Sushi — $57
Movie Tickets (we saw Transformers and enjoyeditverymuch, thankyou!) — $18
Popcorn, Buncha Crunch, and Soda — $14
Dessert from Perkins while in line at Borders for the Harry Potter launch party — $ 12
Babysitting — $80

Uninterrupted dinner conversation, a movie on the big screen, and the New Harry Potter book on opening night? Priceless.
(but too expensive to do very often!)
