Real Moms Say Arrrgggh…

I am so bad at internet memes. I try to keep this site focussed on the kids and to minimize my talking about myself, mostly because I don’t think I am all that interesting, really. I gave up my own personal blog not long after Alex was born, since I just didn’t have the energy to write about anything other than family stuff. But one of my best friends tagged me, months ago, and I have been stumped. The Rules: write a post “Real Moms [insert what you 'do here]“, followed by an explanation, a picture, and a “Real Moms. Making ….”. Then tag five people. I can’t even think of five people to tag who haven’t already done this, but I do really want to at least make a post, and the fact that it has taken this long for me to do so has been weighing heavily on me. And with that lovely buildup, here goes.

This picture is from the Gasparilla Toddler Parade back in January. Alex is wearing the pirate costume I sewed from scratch (along with a multitude of purple beads), Nate is wearing an identical costume, though you can’t see it in this picture since he is asleep on my back in the Ergo. I made a passable attempt at wenchdom with the jewlery and the do rag. I love this picture because it is me with my boys, doing something fun with them — I sewed their outfit myself, I organized the trek to the parade, and I gave into the spirit of piratedom to make my boys happy, and had a heckuva lot of fun in the process.
