Dr. Wasylik

Alex is obviously still processing his most recent visit to the pediatrician. Last night at dinner he proceeded to, in pretend play, take a blood draw from my finger “to check your blood,” give me several shots, and look into my ears, mouth, and nose. He told me he could see my ear drum “and the vibrations” (I have on several occasions explained to Alex how one’s ear drum and ear bones vibrate to catch sound and send a signal to one’s brain so that one can interpret sound). Are you Doctor Wasylik? I asked him. Yes, he replied, I am the doctor. He also told me I had sugar in my pee (one of the things I explained to him they were testing for when they tested his urine on Friday). Nate immediately got in on the game and tried to look in my ears, too. No doubt at all that he has met the “imitates others” milestone the pediatrician asked me about!
