Owl

Alex is very much on the cusp of full fledged reading. Tonight I was reading to him from The Complete Tales of Winnie the Pooh and after reading a page that was particularly full of references to Owl, Alex went behind me, pointing to every instance of that word and saying “Look, Mommy, Owl, Owl, Owl, Owl. Owl!” I asked him, “how did you know that that word was Owl, Alex?” He told me “well you said it a lot of times and that word is on the page a lot of times, and it starts with O and Owl starts with O so I knew.”
