Singing (and dancing!) Nate
Posted by Dineen on November 18th, 2007 filed in Family Fun, NateNate is really into singing and dancing right now. Last night we went to our neighbors’ house for an impromptu dinner on their back patio. Nate kept singing the same thing over, and over, and over again and I finally figured out it was “Happy Birthday to you!” — because of the candles on the table. The enunciation is very baby, which is why it took me so long to figure out, but it was very, very cute. His other favorite song right now is Wheels on the Bus — he asks for that as often as Alex asked for Old MacDonald at his age. He knows all the words, and hand gestures. he asks for it by saying, and miming, “beep beep beep! Moooommmyyy, beep beep beep!” until I give in and sing.
And then there is the dancing. Any music on the radio is the opportunity for boogieing, including the super special break dancing move whereby he bends over, puts his hands and head on the floor, and waves one foot in the air. Seriously. I cannot make this up. So we’ve been having a lot of family dance parties lately. A lovely way to get get all wound up just before bed time!
