When Sick is not all that sick…
Posted by Dineen on January 16th, 2008 filed in Nateit actually makes for a stop-and-smell-the-roses kind of day. Nate was sent home with a fever yesterday (102.5) and after a trip to the pediatrician’s office confirmed that he does not have strep and his ears seem to be clearing up on their own, we spent today together even though he was thankfully not all that sick. We ran some errands, and he was adorable beyond belief every step of the way — charmed the dry cleaner ladies with his politeness, made the cashier coo at Target, and garnered a swath of admirers at Whole Foods (where he also very neatly ate an excellent lunch of mini meatballs, green beans, and spaghetti). The whole time laughing and giggling and smiling happily. After a nice long nap (in which I was able to get some work in), we picked up Alex early from school. That was the thrill of Nate’s day, really — he signed and asked for Alex from the moment he woke up from the nap. When we arrived there, teachers and kids alike treated him like their long lost best friend — Nate! Nate! When we got home, the three of us made a gingerbread house and played until Daddy got home for dinner.
The whole day was a gift.
