Alex Skis

Before I tell the story, a video of Alex’s last run of the day on day two of Ski School (he’s wearing a red and black coat and black pants, and is on the right):

This was the thankfully wonderful ending to a rough start to Alex’s skiing career. On day one, Mommy and Daddy made the mistake of trying to sneak a peek of him on the slopes: he saw us, and decided he wanted to go home right then, at noon. He also said he didn’t want to go back to ski school. We didn’t want to push too hard, but at the same time, he was also saying he did still want to ski, so we struck a bargain: If he wanted to come home again at lunch time, he could. Thankfully, without our interference, he did wonderfully. His teacher (a guy going by the name Pepperoni — really, it was on his name tag!) said Alex listened well, and did a great job learning how to turn and stop. He said he was even ready to graduate to the next class! Next year. Tomorrow we take a break from skiing for some family tubing. But, we’re glad to go out on a positive for Alex’s first time skiing!
