Bringing the Mountain to Mohammed

This morning Alex crawled into bed with us early, then started in on the litany of “I want my bruuuuddder!” I don’t like to get Nate before he is for-sure awake, nor do I particularly like to get out of bed at 6 am just to check if Nate is awake. So I explained that we were not going to disturb Nate, but rather should just enjoy our snuggle time. Alex was too awake for that, and I eventually told him to go play (But do NOT disturb your brother!) while I showered.

When I got out of the shower, Nate’s door was open, the light was on, and there was Alex, sitting IN the crib with his brother. The two of them talking and laughing and all smiles. Alex looked up at me sweetly and said “he was awake and I wanted to play with my brudder.”

How could I be mad at that?
