My Parents are Exhausted

That’s what the t-shirts said. I picked them up at Target last week and thought they would be cute, but they came in very handy for the plane ride home yesterday. The shirts are bright orange, and they pretty much didn’t fail to get a laugh out of anyone we passed at the airport and on the planes. And getting a laugh meant defusing the situation and paving the way to extra nice treatment for us. When we arrived at the terminal, for example, a nice guy stood up and gave us some seats together, saying as he walked away “I am sure you are.”

The plane ride itself proved the saying. Alex actually did fall asleep, but Nate? Nate was wide awake and quite the spitfire the entire flight. Well, except for the last ten minutes, when he finally nodded off. Figures.
