Picnic!

Tonight we had a spontaneous picnic dinner on the park across from our house. I had put dinner in the oven, and took the kids to the park with a timer for checking on it if Mike didn’t make it outside before it was done. When we did our tag team, I decided hey! I can do a pizza picnic! And so I loaded up the kids’ wagon with our folding water proof blanket, portable table, and a tray with our plates and pizza and salad and napkins and crudites. I rolled the whole shebang to where our neighbors were sitting around enjoying their own after dinner drinks, and we ate pizza and chatted and watched the kiddos play. It’s spontaneous fun like this that really makes me love our neighborhood! Having that center green creates such a wonderful sense of community that I doubt there would be on a regular block. And I am grateful for it.
