An Excellent Specimen of Two (and a quarter)
Posted by Dineen on April 11th, 2008 filed in Milestones, NateYes, I was almost four months late on Nate’s 2 year check up. The good news is, that is still months, nay, years better than I am with most of my own health check ups (I am currently on a deferred maintenance kick, and it seems there is a doctor’s appointment every week! but I digress). The better news is that Nate appears to be an excellent specimen of 2. He meets and exceeds every milestone the doctor quizzed me on(and did on his second birthday, not just now almost four months later!). He has way more than 50 words, has been climbing up stairs for ages, can form complete sentences of more than two words, and all the rest. At his 18 month appointment, he freaked out at the sight of the stand-on scale, but this time he had no problem following direction to stand on it and imitating mommy to put his hands to his sides to get an accurate weight (of 30 pounds, which is the 75th percentile). It took him a few more seconds to figure out how to get his heels all the way to the wall to get his height measured (35 inches, again 75th percentile) but he did it, and again this was a big change from squirmily laying down on the horizontal tape measure. No vaccinations due until he starts kindergarten, and annual exams from here on out. I pray we really don’t have to go back before December! That would be ideal.
