Mother’s Day

For Mother’s Day, Alex’s teacher asked the kids two questions, and posted the answers. I can’t remember them all, but they were pretty funny. For the record, when asked “What is a good gift for Mommy for Mother’s Day?” Alex answered “A backrub.” He finished the sentence “I love my Mommy because…” with “she lets me ride my scooter.” Alex made a washcloth with his handprints (in purple, of course) and a poem about not being too impatient with messy hands. Said washcloth was wrapped in a (purple) heart-shaped bag labeled “kisses for mommy” (which also happened to include two Hershey’s Kisses). Also wrapped in the package was a “MOM” sign, made with purple glitter. Nate made a little book with handprints in it. Adorable stuff! I definitely feel appreciated. The MOM sign is hanging in the kitchen, and Nate looks at it during dinner and identifies at least the O. This is the life of a Mom! And I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
