Ninjas!

Alex and Nate just loved their Ninja costumes. They got the idea, I think, from the ninja song on the new Bare Naked Ladies CD. No, Nate’s not wearing pants: we found out when we opened the package to the store bought ninja costume that his costume was missing pants. So we improvised, and used the face masks that the kids had no interest in wearing as face masks and turned them into pants. Or leggings. Or something. Thankfully, he was quite cute enough even without pants. They slashed their swords, made mean faces, and just had a blast.
Because I ended up working late, we trick or treated before dinner, and had a quick dinner out at Burger King (so much for gourmet meatloaf “cupcakes” followed by ice cream “grilled cheese sandwiches” that my inner Rachel Ray intended to cook). And they had a blast.
Our neighborhood is fantastic for this, and we walked for a while with the boys good friends from school. And they had a blast.
