I didn't quite get the import of what he was saying. "Deal!" I replied, and motioned
to clink glasses again. He tried again. "No, what I mean is, will you marry me?"
Suddenly, an open ring box miraculously appeared on the table in front of me.
The rest, as they say, is history. I melted. I said yes (otherwise you wouldn't be reading
this!). We hugged. We kissed. We confused our poor waiter, who couldn't understand
why we hadn't touched our salads when he had timed the entrees perfectly.
We've been planning the whole "rest of our lives" thing ever since.
